Join or Renew MHSLA Membership

There are two levels of membership in MHSLA, 'Institutional' and 'Personal'. The MHSLA Brochure has details about the benefits specific to each level.

Personal Membership

Personal membership is open to anyone interested in health sciences libraries, or in any aspect of health information management. Membership includes, but is not limited to, medical librarians in academic and hospital settings, informationists, library staff of all levels, library science students, and health information product sales representatives, to name just a few. According to the bylaws, personal membership grants the benefits of:

To vote
To hold office, chair and serve on committees
To receive the newsletter, Membership Directory, and access to the members- only section of the MHSLA website.
To receive reduced conference rates

Institutional Membership

Institutional membership is open to health sciences libraries or libraries in allied fields. The authorized representative of an institutional member must be designated in writing by the institution at the time of payment, but may be transferred during the year upon written notification. According to the bylaws, institutional membership grants the benefits of:

To have one vote for the designated institutional representative
To have the designated institutional representative appointed to committees
To receive the newsletter, Membership Directory, all other published materials, and access to the members-only section of the MHSLA website.
To receive reduced conference rates for the designated institutional representative

PLEASE NOTE: MHSLA membership may be required to participate in some MHSLA group purchase agreements. Although MHSLA strives to provide equal services to all of its Members, certain Members may be ineligible for certain services due to geographic or other restrictions imposed by vendors.
